A genuine Dactylioceras ammonite, with a hand carved ammonite head.
This sculpture has taken me approximately 15 hours to complete. Using various pneumatic tools, I have painstakingly carved away the rock surrounding the ammonite, to create a 3D tentacled head.
Found:- Lower Jurassic, Upper Lias, Bifrons Zone, Whitby, North Yorkshire, England, 180 million years old.
Snakestone approximate size:- 11cm x 10cm x 6cm.
Finished with bees wax.
This snakestone will come in a gift box, along with a plastic display stand and label detailing the origin and species of the fossil.
